Welcome to the Cambridge Primary Care Unit
The University of Cambridge Primary Care Unit is based within the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, one of Europe’s premier university departments of population health sciences.
We have important educational and research roles, with over 100 staff under the leadership of Professor Martin Roland. Our research groups make important contributions to research in the areas of cardiovascular disease, health services research, behavioural science, prevention and early diagnosis of cancer, end of life care, and social science. Our work is supported by the UK National Institute for Health Research, UK Department of Health (including a Policy Research Unit on Behaviour and Health), Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK. We also have a major role in medical student teaching in the Cambridge Clinical School, as well as supporting postgraduate education for Masters and PhD students and for Academic Clinical Fellows.
