Dr Richard Davies - Director of General Practice Studies
Richard completed his medical training in 1986, having studied in Cambridge and Oxford. After junior hospital jobs in Milton Keynes, Hereford and various parts of Birmingham he trained as a GP in Kidderminster. For two years he worked as a full time GP in Cheltenham, before moving back to Cambridge in 1993. Since then he has worked as a principal at Cornford House Surgery and has gradually wheedled his way in to the unit where he currently works part time.
In 2001 he completed an MSc in Medical Anthropology. His dissertation was an ethnographic study of a heart disease self-help group. His role is predominantly in the development of undergraduate education in primary care, but he also has an interest in lay models of disease.
