Dr Rachel Morris - Assistant Director of General Practice Studies, General Practice Education Group

Rachel Morris trained at the University of Nottingham and graduated in 1998. She undertook a GP vocational training scheme in Huntingdon and was awarded distinction in the MRCGP exam in 2002. During her GP training she undertook a placement in medical education with the General Practice Education Group at the University of Cambridge. Whilst developing her interest in Medical Education she has worked as a Clinical Lecturer at the Refugee Doctors Programme at Queen Mary University London and has also been involved in teaching communication and clinical skills to undergraduates at the University of Cambridge and health care professionals on Advanced Clinical Practitioner and MsC courses at Homerton College.

She now works as a GP in the north of Cambridge and as Assistant Director of Studies for the GP Education Group at the University of Cambridge. Responsibilities include curriculum design, course development, contributing to examinations and development of teachers. She is responsible for the Stage 1 GP course and has recently organized the Clinical School careers evening. She co-ordinates the Higher Professional Education group, a networking and educational group for GPs which runs throughout the year in Cambridgeshire. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Medical Education with the University of Dundee.
