Title: Hospital admissions close to the end of life: a study of national datasets
Principal research question: How many people are admitted from home or care home close to the end of life? What are the trends in the ten England SHAs for these admissions over the past 8 years?
Background: A study of national Hospital Episode Statistics and Office for National Statistics Mortality datasets, investigating trends in hospital admissions from home or care home close to the end of life. In collaboration with ERPHO (Eastern Region Public Health Observatory).
Methodology description: Analysis of Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and Office for National Statistics Mortality datasets.
