University Lecturer / Honorary Consultant in Psychiatry

Applications are invited for the above joint post with the University of Cambridge and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT). The Department of Psychiatry is based on four sites: the Downing Site in centralCambridge, Douglas House onTrumpington Road, Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Herchel Smith Building for Brain & Mind Science, both on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus where the post will be based. CPFT provides mental health services to the whole of the county.
The University Department of Psychiatry is an internationally recognised centre for research in mental health, mental illness and behaviour. It has achieved the highest quality scores in the last three UK Government research evaluation. The post offers significant protected time to develop a research programme in a collaborative and supportive environment, within the Department and the University as a whole, while allowing clinical duties to be undertaken.
The successful applicants will also have a role in supporting undergraduate teaching and assessment in psychiatry.
Clinical duties will represent approximately 50% of the job plan. The predecessor in the post contributed to adult services in the south of the county. We welcome applications from those with clinical expertise relevant to any period of adulthood, with younger and older ages offering particular opportunities for clinical academic development.
Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or close to accreditation. Their achievements to date will indicate that they will thrive in theCambridgeresearch environment and that they have the potential to become the leader in their field.
