The Growth Hormone/Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Axis

Professor David Dunger and Dr. Carlo Acerini have a long standing interest in the GH/IGF-I axis, particularly as it relates to growth during adolescence and to insulin sensitivity. They are currently exploring a number of therapeutic options for modulating the axis during puberty (IGF-I, IGF-I/IGFBP-3, specific GH inhibitors).
