The Clinical School-led team which achieved the transfer-in of CRUK Cambridge Institute, MRC Epidemiology Unit and MRC Cancer Unit won an award in the 2013 UAS Employee Recognition Awards. The UAS (Unified Administrative Service) scheme aims to celebrate excellence across the UAS, with reference to the four UAS values. The CRUK/MRC transfers team won the team award for ‘collaboration and working in partnership’.
The transfers project was a good example of the School working closely with central University sections, for example Legal Services, Insurance, Research Operations, Estates and central Finance & Procurement to achieve a complex transition to tight deadlines. The main team leads received the award from the Vice Chancellor at a reception on 10th December. The Regius will hold a local reception for all members of the teams in the New Year.

Dr Vivien Hodges
Dr Vivien Hodges, WiSETI Project Officer, Equality and Diversity, was also recognised for her work in supporting Schools and individual Departments with their Athena SWAN submissions. Dr Hodges was a key part of the Clinical School’s Athena SWAN Steering Group, working closely with Professor Fiona Karet on our successful Silver award submission – another outstanding example of ‘collaboration and working in partnership’.
The four UAS values are:
- we deliver an effective and high-quality service
- we collaborate and work in partnership
- we are open, responsive and innovative
- we respect others and value diversity
