How we work – Cambridge Biostatistics Consultancy
Our approach
Maintaining strong two-way communication throughout the lifecycle of each individual project is central to the ethos of our service. Whether you have a definitive idea of what statistical help you require or are uncertain about what is needed, we will ensure that we gather a clear understanding of your problem, your questions, your data and any helpful background information, from the beginning, and will keep you informed of our progress through regular email communication and video calls.
We will always ensure that you understand the results and that you feel confident in how to communicate them to the audience or users of the outputs.
We will explain the reasons for methodological choices and the statistics behind the output in a language that is accessible.
Ways of working together
Our consultancy service is open to a wide range of interactions and project collaborations. Key types of work include:
Standard consultancy – where we deliver specified tasks or services, which could include statistical advice or work to deliver a product such as the design or analysis of a study.
Secondments of research staff to an organisation – to allow work on a broader range of tasks and facilitate close integration with clients or partners.
Research collaborations – to work on longer term and more challenging problems, which could involve multiple staff from the BSU and client organisations. Where both parties wish it, such agreements can involve the co-creation of new published research.
