The ISSF Management Group is pleased to announce funding for a public engagement prize, and a call for proposals from Cambridge University researchers to compete for this opportunity.
We are particularly keen to receive proposals that would: convey a key message about our research strategy in the biomedical sciences; complement existing public engagement activities in the Schools of Clinical Medicine and Biological Sciences; and reach out to new audiences.
Projects or events using a variety of media or formats can be considered, provided a clear rationaleis given for how the necessary resources and expertise will be secured. The winner will receive a prize of up to £3,000 for their project or event, which must take place within the next 12 months. We anticipate that the successful applicant will be able to access the University public engagement and communications teams for advice and possible training, but for initial advice on your application, please contact Nicola Buckley (Nicola.Buckley@admin.cam.ac.uk). A short report including evaluation will be required from the prize winner after the project or event is complete.
Entries can be considered from researchers at all stages of their careers, and joint submissions are also encouraged. Research students and postdocs should confirm that they have permission from their supervisor/principal investigator to participate in this competition. Please submit your application form to Alison Schuldt (ajs52@cam.ac.uk). All applications will be assessed by the ISSF Management Group, whose decision will be final.
