Congratulations to Jason Ali, Department of Surgery, who has won the prestigious Patey Prize at the recent Society of Academic and Research Surgery conference for his presentation ‘Heterogeneity in indirect pathway CD4 T cell alloresponses’.
The Patey prize celebrates the work of David Patey (1899-1977), a distinguished surgeon at the Middlesex Hospital who gained international recognition for pioneering the “Patey” mastectomy, and is awarded annually for the best paper presented to the Society. Jason is currently undertaking a PhD in transplantation immunology. As well as receiving a cash prize, he will deliver a lecture during an expenses-paid attendance at the American Association for Academic Surgery annual congress in Las Vegas in 2015.
