Professor Marc Dewey

I am the Professor of Radiology at the University of Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals and Royal Papworth Hospital. My work focuses on quantitative cardiothoracic imaging (QCI) and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve diagnosis and guide patient care.

I have led international randomised medical imaging trials and coordinate global research programmes on imaging-based precision medicine and data sharing. I am particularly interested in how new technologies can be translated into meaningful clinical impact for patients.

Teaching and mentoring are central to my work. I have trained medical students, residents, and doctoral researchers over many years, and in Cambridge I contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education. I also work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the NHS.

Project/study information

I lead international randomised medical imaging trials, including DISCHARGE (www.dischargetrial.eu) and INCHARGE, and coordinate interdisciplinary global initiatives such as the QCI study group and the GUIDE-IT data sharing platform (www.guideit.org) focusing on improving diagnosis and clinical decision-making in cardiovascular disease.
