About Professor Marc Tischkowitz
I obtained my medical degree from Liverpool University and then trained in Medical Oncology and Clinical Genetics in the UK. After completing a PhD at Kings College, London, I moved to Canada where I was on Faculty at McGill University for six years before returning to Cambridge in 2011. In my current post I spend half my time doing research at the University and half my time doing clinical work for the NHS.
Project/study information
My research is focussed on hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, hereditary gastric cancer and rare cancer syndromes such as Fanconi anaemia, ataxia telangiectasia and PTEN hamartoma tumour syndrome. I have a special interest in translating the recent advances in genomic technology into clinical practice.
