Congratulations to Professor Patrick Chinnery who has been elected as Professor of Neurology and appointed Head of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.
Professor Chinnery is an expert on the role of mitochondria in human disease and in developing new treatments for mitochondrial disorders.
He says, “I am honoured to have been elected Professor of Neurology, and excited by the prospect of moving my laboratory to the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit on the Biomedical Campus. I look forward to developing new research collaborations across the University”.
He will take up his appointment on 1 October.
