Description: Recognition of Teaching Contributions applies to NHS consultants employed by CUH (not to those on Academic/University contracts holding established University positions, where teaching is already part of the role—even if they hold an Honorary Consultant contract with CUH). Applicants would be delivering undergraduate teaching over and above that which would normally be expected within a teaching hospital, and therefore beyond what would be encompassed within the standard 0.5 SPA allocation for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Supervising SSC students may form part of this additional activity if it happens with regularity, as may regular small group teaching (e.g. for professionalism, radiology or in other areas).
Applications: Applications are submitted to the Secretary of the Faculty Board and considered in February to synchronise with CUH’s job planning round. Successful applicants are required to reapply each year.
