This site provides researchers and administrators with up-to-date information on the REF and is intended to help all those involved with the compilation of REF submissions. The website will be regularly updated by the School’s REF Team.
Eligibility for inclusion in the REF
The REF Policy Committee has agreed the following eligibility definition for inclusion in the REF, which replaces the definition set out in the University’s REF Equality Code of Practice with immediate effect.
Eligibility for REF inclusion is entirely independent of a researcher’s grade in their University post. To be eligible, a researcher must be a PI, hold an independent fellowship (including JRFs) or be conducting research that would have been considered appropriate, under other circumstances, to be submitted as a research grant application. The researcher should have no formal Supervisor.
