The School of Clinical Medicine appraisal scheme was launched on 1st October. The scheme principles were agreed at the Council of the School meeting in July, to include the development of a single appraisal scheme and supporting documentation to be used across the School for all staff groups.
A Clinical School appraisal form has been developed, along with helpful Q & As – these are available on the Clinical School Website along with the scheme document.
The School scheme:-
- Supports the University wide drive to increase the number of staff who benefit from a regular appraisal;
- Embeds appraisal within the School as an annual process;
- Forms part of the School’s Athena SWAN action plan;
- Offers both appraiser and appraisee training sessions, on the Campus. Information about the content of the sessions, and how to book, is available via the Clinical School website. Any appraiser who has not conducted an appraisal in the last two years must attend a refresher session.
It should be noted that any individual being considered for the award of additional salary incremental points, or considered for promotion through one of the University promotion procedures, is expected to have been appraised within the previous 12 months.
If you have any queries about the scheme please contact your Departmental Administrator or Gail Christey, HR Business Manager on 62551 or by email atgail.christey@admin.cam.ac.uk
