About Dr Abbie Grieg
In 2025, Abbie was awarded her PhD in Geography from the University of Cambridge. Drawing upon extensive in-depth qualitative interviews, her doctoral research explored the embodied, lived experiences of receiving an organ transplant, and examined how such experiences impact health and wellbeing beyond a biomedical understanding of survival.
Through this research, Abbie has experience working with patients, support groups and NHS staff. She also has an MA in Geography from the University of St Andrews, and an MPhil in Geographical Research from the University of Cambridge.
